The Journey Begins

Cycling LEJOG (Land’s End to John O’Groats) is something Paul and I have often talked about. We have friends who have done it unassisted and we were amazed and a little envious at their achievement.

I am always up for a challenge and have really enjoyed events like cycling London to Paris. Paul and I have also done a couple of tours of 5-6 days each cycling around the country on our bikes staying with family and friends but 14 days of 70-80 miles a day seemed just too much.

Just before Christmas last year I had a crazy moment thinking that if we were ever to do LEJOG it had to be sooner rather than later, as we weren’t getting any younger.

With great excitement we signed up with Pedal Britain (www.pedalbritain.com) paid the deposit which meant the training had to begin!
